This book is one that's not "mental-health-related" in the way I traditionally read, but it's still totally there! While it's not about anxiety or depression or anything like that, it about what affects our reactions to our everyday lives and how we can change that, so it's still really important to know about!
The subtitle of Drama Free is "A guide to managing unhealthy family relationships," essentially summing up what this book is about. Approaching just about every topic from birth families to blended families to in-laws, it talks about any kind of family relationship that you may struggle with and gives you a way to understand what the problem might be and how you can fix it.
Drama Free is one of those books that I'd recommend only if you were going into a psychological field or if you were trying to understand your (or another's) family relationships. It's definitely not a light read and it involves a lot of thinking. There are exercises for you to do if you so feel inclined and it really gets you to delve deep into what you're trying to understand while reading the book. This is definitely a book that encourages growth despite circumstances and it encourages you to break the boundaries of what you thought you knew.
Overall, this was a really good book. I did rate it 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads because it wasn't the best I've seen, but it was pretty good. Definitely a solid read if you're looking for something of this type.
