I can’t get over the name. I can’t use it, I struggle when I hear it, I just… I can’t forget it. Breath catches in my throat and I panic, the memories flash before my eyes and I feel like I’m falling all over again. Nausea washes over me and my knees threaten to dump me onto the ground.

One day, perhaps I will, but for now, I’m still here.

The name… I can’t…

My stomach heaves and I wrap my arms around my middle, gasping for air and trying to keep myself from falling apart. As if my feeble arms could hold together so many shattering pieces.

The people never come back after they leave. They never give me reasons and they never seem to care. Nobody ever cared. They all leave. Every last one.

The name stings as I hear it once again and I feel the panic pressing closer in, gasping, searching for anything, any air, any… anything.

May I never hear that name again.
