You said that I could talk to you

You said you understood what I felt

You said you’d like to know the truth

That hides behind so many walls

But truth is, when I speak, you turn the other way

When I try to bare my heart to you, you only seem to say

“I understand, I understand,” and sometimes I believe

But when I trust you to explain what’s wrong, you always stay the same

“She’s okay, just being dramatic. Don’t worry about her.”

But really, I told you, did you hear my words??

You did, but you see me as a little naïve child

And I told myself, I tell myself, you aren’t worthwhile

You never listen, you always judge, your words in my mouth

I want to tell you who I am but I cannot without regret
